This researcher has focused their work across a diverse range of themes, all centered on advancing research through innovative approaches in computational optimization, simulation techniques, mathematical modeling, and real-world applications. Their overarching research focus encompasses the application of advanced algorithms and models to address challenges in photovoltaics, viral infections, public health systems, energy management, epidemiological studies, manufacturing processes, and financial mathematics. The researcher has developed novel solutions using hybrid methods such as NSGAII, Monte Carlo simulations, particle swarm grey wolf optimization, fractional compartmental models, curvilinear Shallow Water Equations, field-flow fractionation techniques, and machine translation approaches to tackle complex problems in these domains, aiming for both theoretical advancements and practical applications.
Faculty Biography
Reindorf has developed a keen interest in computational modelling and simulation. It all started with him completing a Master of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(KNUST) where his research work focused on the application of fractional calculus in Pharmacokinetics. He also obtained his PhD in Scientific Computing and Industrial Modeling at the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences, KNUST.So far, his technical research areas have included scientific computing and machine learning. Currently, he works with the Center for Scientific and Technical Computing-NIMS as a fellow in Scientific computing and industrial modelling (specifically in Photovoltaic system modelling, flood inundation modelling and disease/Pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PKPD) modelling). For Reindorf, he believes that research is all about finding answers in multidisciplinary areas using tools in mathematics and computing.It’s not all work for lecturers though – each has time for fun. When he isn’t in the office, you can find him in one of his favourite spots on campus - "the campus gymnasium - a place to keep the body in good shape for the laborious tasks ahead. Also a good place to relax and chat with friends and students after work.” said Reindorf.
