Albert Adu-Gyamfi
The researcher's work focuses on a comprehensive exploration of social, economic, and infrastructural challenges within peri-urbanism, housing accessibility, home ownership trends, and displacement dynamics. Their studies examine issues such as caretaker roles in housing改善、城市化进程与住房改善之间的关系、性别角色在社会支持体系中的作用、 flooding加剧及其应对策略、农村土地改革的现实意义、 radiation effects on health、社区生态系统的功能、城乡发展模式对民众生活的影响以及气候变化带来的环境挑战。
Faculty Biography
In January 2018, Albert joined the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology as a Lecturer in the Planning Department. Albert’s background is in urban studies with broad experience in urban and regional planning gained through teaching and research conducted at universities in Ghana, Australia and China. Albert joined the University of Melbourne in July 2014 and worked in the areas of urban planning and management and urban development studies. He has also contributed to collaborative projects with researchers at University of Melbourne, Australia, Monash University, Australia, Hohai University, China, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He is a member of the Ghana Institute of Planners. Albert's current research interests include Urban housing, climate change adaptation; urban studies, urbanisation and urban containment; regional planning; sustainable cities; resilience planning and management, natural resource management. He has published widely on some of these subjects.
