Research Overview & Focus

My research focuses on the comprehensive management and global impact of chronic kidney disease (CKD), with a particular emphasis on translational studies that bridge medical education, clinical research, policy development, and community engagement. The researcher explores innovative therapies, international collaborations, and the use of evidence-based practices to improve CKD care worldwide. Their work also highlights the critical role of recent global health events, such as COVID-19 pandemics, in shaping contemporary approaches to kidney disease management and health equity.

Faculty Biography

Elliot is a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Medicine of the School of Medicine and Dentistry of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) and Fellow of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) after training in Cape Town, South Africa. Elliot is a Senior Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity with the George Washington University in Washington DC and part of the first cohort in the Emerging Leaders Program of the International Society of Nephrology. He also holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Consulting Elliot is greatly involved with advocacy to help prevent kidney diseases through talks on radio, television, churches and organizations as he believes in reaching out to primary health care as a tool to improve access to quality healthcare and universal Health Coverage.  He is the Founder and Director of Kidney Health International a Non-profit organization with goal to promote kidney health in Ghana and Beyond.He has organized free screening exercises for vulnerable groups with the aim to prevent kidney disease. He also trains both healthcare and non-healthcare workers on how to educate and screen people with diabetes, hypertension, obesity and kidney diseases. He has also written a lot of articles for  Graphiconline, myjoyonline.com and Ghana Business news on kidney disease prevention as well as 25 peer-review journals.Elliot is also a key Investigator with the May Measurement Month in the Ashanti region, a Hypertension awareness and screening campaign held in May every year in conjunction with the International Society of Hypertension.
