Research Overview & Focus

The overall research focus centers on the investigation of cleft abnormalities in infants and newborns, examining both genetic and observational factors influencing their development, as well as the impact of healthcare systems and policies. Research spans domains such as reproductive health, maternal and neonatal care, genetics, and global health initiatives, with a particular emphasis on factors like twin studies, cleft-related diseases, and public health collaborations.

Faculty Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Child Health of the Kumasi School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST where I teach 5th year Medical Students Newborn Care. I also act as an Honorary Consultant Paediatrican to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hosptial, Kumasi and am Head of the Mother Baby Unit wher babiew below 2 months are admitted.I am by profession a Medical Practitioner with a keen interest in Clinical Practice and also in Teaching. I also am a member of the Ghanaian Bar after being called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2012. The bulk of my legal practice is carried out in teaching various categories of Health Workers (inlcuding Doctors, Undergraduate and Post Graduate Medical students, Physician Assistants, Certified Registered Anaesthetists etc) about mediclogal issues whic they need to be abrest with.I am a widow with three Grown Up daughters.
