Faculty Biography

Dr. Christiana Subaar is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she specializes in Medical Physics and Nuclear Science and Technology. With an illustrious academic background, including a Ph.D. in Health and Radiation Physics, an M.Phil. in Medical Physics, and a BSc in Applied Physics, Dr. Subaar brings over two decades of expertise in teaching STEM disciplines. Her pedagogical approach is centered on student empowerment and nurturing a passion for learning.Dr. Subaar's research endeavors are focused on enhancing radiation safety, with a particular emphasis on optimizing pediatric radiation doses in computed tomography (CT) and digital radiography examinations within the Ghanaian context. Her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of areas, including radiation safety, pathophysiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Radiation Dosimetry and Radiation Therapy. Throughout her career, Dr. Subaar has demonstrated a remarkable ability to develop innovative curricula, mentor students effectively, and produce well-rounded graduates who are poised to make meaningful contributions to the fields of Medical Physics and Nuclear Science and Technology.
