Faculty Biography
Christopher Larbie, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and the Principal Investigator for the HepatoRenal Research Group. He was also a Fulbright Scholar (2018/19) at the National Center for Natural Products Research at the University of Mississippi, USA. Dr Larbie’s research group focuses on the toxicological and pharmacological evaluation of medical herbs, spices, vegetables and some ornamental for the management of liver and kidney diseases as well as diabetes, hypertension and cancers. His team uses both cell lines and whole organisms and employ techniques including chromatography, biochemical and haematological assessment, histopathology and immunohistochemistry.
