Faculty Biography

Prof. Patrick Osei-Poku is an Associate Professor in Art Education and a former Dean of the Faculty of Art. He holds degrees in Ph.D. (Art Education), M.A. (Art Education) P/G Dip. (Art Education) and B.A. (Art, Graphic Design Option) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He teaches Educational/Arts Administration, Evaluation, Tests and Measurements, and also facilitates Thesis Seminars at the graduate level. At the Undergraduate B.Ed Basic Education, he teaches and coordinates Supported Teaching in Schools (formerly Teaching Practice). His research interests include curriculum issues, assessment and evaluation of educational programmes in the areas of art and design education. He has published several academic papers in peer reviewed journals and attended workshops, seminars and conferences where papers were read. He has provided enormous services to his University and national communities in various capacities either as Chairman or member of boards and committees which have some impacts on the communities. Internationally, he has had rich academic and administrative experiences in the Cape Peninsular University of Technology in South Africa and the Pennsylvania State University in USA as Visiting Scholar committed to promoting the establishment of friendship and long term creative and research collaboration for his University.
