Benjamin Betey Campion
This researcher's work focuses on integrating innovative approaches across disciplines to address global challenges in environmental, social, and economic development. Through a combination of observational studies, field investigations, and experimental designs, the researcher explores themes such as flood risk assessment, land use and water management, climate variability impacts, agricultural resilience, marine ecosystems dynamics, and the biological traits influencing livestock production. The research integrates methodologies like statistical modeling, data collection, and case studies to uncover insights into environmental issues, improve resource management practices, and drive sustainable development strategies.
Faculty Biography
Benjamin Betey Campion (PhD) is an associate professor at the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. Dr Campion has a very diverse academic upbringing: BSc Botany (University of Cape Coast), MSc Aquatic Tropical Ecology (University of Bremen), MSc Sustainable Resource Management (Technical University of Munich) and a PhD Climate and Vegetation Geography (University of Bremen). He is also a certified High Conservation Values (HCV) assessor.Dr Campion has over 15 years been teaching and conducting research in ecology, natural resources management, conflict management and climate change. His research publications have therefore been on urban green spaces and wetlands, natural resources conflicts, especially, conflicts and the management of communal resources. Aside research, Dr Campion has worked as consultant in the conduct environmental impact assessments, development of management plans and biodiversity action plans for mining companies, oil and gas companies and non-governmental organisations in Ghana and abroad.
