Ahmed Abdul-Rahman
The researcher's work focuses on the broader theme of plant resilience and stress tolerance across diverse domains. Their research encompasses various plant responses to environmental challenges, including salt stress, water stress, arsenic contamination, gaba modulation, and seed germination. Through interdisciplinary approaches combining biology, chemistry, genetics, and methodology, the researcher has developed innovative strategies to enhance plant resilience and adaptability in different environments. Their work integrates methods such as isosmotic solutions for salt stress, EDTA-mediated metal chelation for toxicology, isotonic solutions for nutrient regulation, and isometric studies of germination to address both genetic and environmental factors influencing plant health. This comprehensive approach provides a holistic understanding of how plants cope with abiotic stresses, contributing significantly to agricultural practices aimed at improving plant tolerance and productivity.
Faculty Biography
Prof. Abdul-Rahman Ahmed is an Associate Professor of Telecommunication Engineering at KNUST, Ghana, with over 15 years of experience in Academic research covering digital infrastructure, AI applications, wireless systems, and ICT policy strategy. He has led research on AI-driven models for UAV security, blockchain-based IIoT systems, and RF technologies, with over 30 peer-reviewed publications and 350+ citations.He has provided technical advisory to then Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, MESTI ( on digital innovation), and the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization (review of Ghana’s National Space Policy). He also served as a technical expert on STEM policy and higher education frameworks for Ministry of Education and its agencies (National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), National Teaching Council (NTC), and Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC)).At KNUST, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Electrical & Computer Engineering (2020–2023), Vice Dean, and currently Head of Telecommunication Engineering Department, contributing to institutional strategy and research leadership.
