Thompson Annor
A researcher has made significant contributions to advancing hydrological understanding by integrating satellite data with land use/land cover changes, particularly in mining areas. Through a series of papers spanning themes such as Hydrology and Watershed Management Studies (e.g., water balance responses and precipitation projections), the study explores the impacts of mining on water systems across West Africa. The research highlights how satellite imagery enhances our ability to monitor land-use changes and their effects on hydrological processes, particularly in resource-constrained environments like the Pra River Basin. By analyzing historical data and projecting future trends, the work provides critical insights into climate change impacts, agricultural resilience, and sustainable practices. Through its comprehensive approach, the research synthesizes knowledge across physics, environment, and policy to inform decisions for optimizing water resources and promoting eco-innovation in West Africa.
