Thomas Diby Kouakou

Faculty Biography

Dr. Thomas Kouakou Diby is a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy, School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. He specializes in Gross Anatomy, Developmental, and Neuroanatomy. With a PhD in Human Anatomy and Cell Biology from KNUST, Dr. Diby’s research involves the application of anatomy in Breast Reconstruction Surgery for Breast developmental anomalies and breast Cancer. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, such as PLOS ONE, and attended international conferences, including the Joint Conference of the West African College of Morphologists and the Anatomical Society of Ghana (ASOG) in 2024.  As an educator, Dr. Diby is committed to bridging theory and practice through case-based learning and a student-centered approach, delivering courses such as SMS 152/154/252/255/265/286 and 286, as well as ANAT 551/552 at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  Beyond academia, Dr. Diby actively contributes to professional/community engagements, including serving as a Health talk facilitator at Our Lady of Grace (OLAG) Senior High School in Mamponteng, Ashanti Region.
