The researcher integrates diverse methodologies across several thematic areas, focusing on the application of biological, chemical, and physical sciences to enhance agricultural sustainability and environmental health. Their work spans small ruminant production using agroecology and bamboo leaves, evaluating plant-based nutrition for livestock, developing sustainable farming systems like agroforestry, analyzing agricultural resilience, and studying plant roles in food security through Moringa oleifera research. This integrated approach aims to provide holistic solutions for improving agricultural efficiency, sustainability, and health across diverse lands and systems.

Faculty Biography

Dr Antoinette Anim-Jnr is a member of Faculty at the Department of Animal Science, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. She holds a BSc in Agriculture from KNUST, an MSc in Meat Science and Technology from the University of Bristol, UK, and a PhD in Animal Science from Massey University, New Zealand. She is a passionate researcher with interest in  Animal Nutrition and Meat Science. Her research focuses on exploring locally available underutilised non-conventional feed resources to promote sustainable animal production, food and nutrition security, and the socio-economic well-being of livestock farmers. Antoinette aspires to become an important contributor in the African meat industry value chains through the provision of knowledge, experience and technical support.With exceptional cognitive ability and passion for research, she has won national and international awards that promote academic excellence and cutting-edge research. These include the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship, Gravida Doctoral Scholarship and Massey University’s ‘List of Exceptional Theses’. Dr Anim-Jnr has good exposure to the international research community, having worked at the International Sheep Research Centre, New Zealand, as part of her PhD.She is an active member of many professional bodies, including the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Ghana (WiSTEM Gh) and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She is a fellow with the Food Systems Research Network for Africa (FSNet-Africa) project and  currently the Kumasi Branch President of the Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni, Ghana (CoSFAG). Antoinette enjoys mentoring young women Agriculturists.
