Faculty Biography

Mr. Nelson Gyasi-Boadu has been a Lecturer in Social Work at the Department since 2014. Prior to joining the Department, he worked as a Medical Social Worker with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.  He has over 10 years practice experience with both Governmental and Non-governmental organisations including Actionaid Ghana, Centre for the Development of the People (CEDEP), Winrock International, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (Social Welfare) and Birtenshaw Hall Children’s Charitable Trust, Bolton. UK. He has developed the mastery for teaching Social Work Practice and Coordinating the field practice component of the Social Work Programme. He has specialty in Medical Social Work, Disability Studies, Working with Groups, Child Welfare and Social Care Management. He is a product of the University of Ghana and the University of Central Lancashire, UK., with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Master Degree in Social Work and Welfare Studies respectively.
