The researcher has a strong foundation in foregin genetics, utilizing population genetic data derived from STR loci and GlobalFiler PCR amplification for the Saudi Arabian population. Their work extends into bioarchaeology with studies on haplotype analysis of populations in Ghana, employing Yfiler Plus and TaqMan SNP genotyping. Additionally, they explore orthopedic surgery using percutaneous bone assessment techniques to evaluate relationships between homologous and non-homologous bones among Ghanaian tertiary students. Their research integrates genetic data across diverse fields, showcasing a versatile approach to understanding human populations and health conditions.
Faculty Biography
Dr. Pet-Paul Wepeba is a seasoned, meticulous, enthusiastic, and results-driven Forensic Science Consultant with 9 years of teaching, research, and industrial experience. He teaches Anatomy and Forensic Science at the Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine and Dentistry.Pet-Paul is a founding member and the current president of the Ghana Academy of Forensic Sciences (GAFS), a member of the International Society for Forensic Genetics (ISFG). He holds a BMLS, from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana-West Africa, an MSc in Forensic Science, from the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge-UK, an MPhil, and a Ph.D. in Forensic Genetics from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)-Preston-UK.
