Research Overview & Focus

The researcher's work spans a diverse range of pharmaceutical research, encompassing drug delivery systems, herbal extracts, plant-based materials, analytical techniques, economic studies, and polyacrylates. Their research focuses on enhancing drug delivery through innovative formulations, utilizing natural gum-based extended release matrix tablets for model drugs with varying solubilities. In the field of psidium guajava extract research, they explore oral capsule production from herbal decoctions for medical treatments. Hibiscus Plant Research Studies delve into the application of specific plant extracts in pharmaceutical formulations. Their work on analytical methods involves assessing chloroquine phosphate and chlorpheniramine maleate products. The researcher also investigates hydrogels' properties under varying pH conditions, studying polyelectrolyte complexes with chitosan. Additionally, they examine the economic aspects of sustained release antihypertensive preparations in Ghana, surveying physician and patient preferences for these medications in Kumasi. This comprehensive research effort highlights a broad approach to pharmaceutical applications across diverse domains, from formulation development to analytical insights, emphasizing innovative solutions and interdisciplinary approaches.

Faculty Biography

Since September 1991 I have been involved in higher education.  I started first as a Teaching assistance and later as a demonstrator during my graduate days and after my M.Pharm graduation became full time faculty member in September 1997.  During my full-time faculty tenure I have been involved in various research in drug formulation and also part time community pharmacy practitioner. I have supervised over 100 undergraduate final year students and over 10 MPharm students in various field of Pharmaceutics. I have served the Faculty and the University in various areas.
