Kofi Amanor

Faculty Biography

Kofi Amanor is an applied development economist with over five years of experience in teaching and conducting impactful research at the intersection of development economics, environmental and resource economics, and behavioral economics. His work focuses on addressing critical challenges in areas such as environmental health, energy efficiency, agricultural economics, and climate change, particularly in the context of developing economies.Kofi thrives in multicultural and collaborative environments that foster inclusion and innovation. He recently earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he also completed a master’s degree in Economics.  His expertise lies in instrument development and economic modeling, including experimental design, spatial econometrics, and impact evaluation, which he applies to generate actionable insights and inform policy decisions. Throughout his career, Kofi has spearheaded and contributed to research projects that promote sustainability, resource management, and socioeconomic development. His work integrates field-based research with empirical analysis to address pressing issues such as climate adaptation, environmental degradation, and rural poverty alleviation.An insightful and solutions-driven professional, Kofi is passionate about leveraging economics to inform policies, drive innovation, and create meaningful, lasting impact for communities and industries. He brings a unique blend of analytical rigor, practical expertise, and a commitment to sustainable development to his work.
