Research Overview & Focus

The researcher's work centers on understanding and addressing health challenges in aging populations, energy systems with a global perspective, water management, sustainable practices, policy implementation, and conservation efforts within the Ghanaian context. Their focus includes examining how these areas intersect to impact socio-economic outcomes, particularly within the African continent, using case studies from Ghana.

Faculty Biography

Prof. Jonathan Dagadu Quartey is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. His special areas of interest are Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Macroeconomics, Development Macroeconomics and Ecological Economics. Since 2001, Prof. Quartey has taught undergraduate and graduate courses. He has also supervised several theses at these levels. His research areas are Natural Resource Policy Evaluation, Economics of Climate Change, Economics of Public Utilities: Energy and Water and Economics of Forestry. Prof. Quartey has made many presentations in international and local conferences. He has also participated in projects and published in his areas of research. He is a Fellow of the West Africa Institute (WAI).
