Their studies span themes such as thermochemical energy conversion, electric vehicle technologies, petroleum processing, and advanced manufacturing methods, all aimed at addressing global challenges in sustainability and technological advancement.

Faculty Biography

Prof. Prince Yaw Andoh is a  Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with over 18 years experience in teaching and researching in the areas of Design, Manufacturing and Applied Mechanics. His primary area of research interests include modeling, identification and control of mechanical systems, tribology of manufactured surfaces and integration of design and manufacturing. His research work involves the development of quantitative parameter for characterization of a model for prediction and control of delamination area for composite laminates, the development of factorial design for the planning, conducting, analyzing and interpreting experiments so that sound and valid conclusions can be drawn efficiently, and economically; designing a facility layout for a small scale palm oil processing factory, processing and characterization of bamboo to serve as a composite material for wind turbine blade  applications.Prof. Prince Yaw Andoh has served as the Transport Engineer from March, 2008 to October, 2010, Vacation Training Officer: August, 2008 to July, 2014, Department of Mechanical Engineering Field Trip organizer November 2012 to July 2014, Department of Mechanical Engineering Postgraduate Coordinator August, 2015 to 2017, Head of  Department of Mechanical Engineering, August 2017 to July 2018, Sectional Head for Applied Mechanics and Automobile in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and also the College of Engineering Internship Coordinator and Laision Officer from August 2019 to December 2021. He is currently the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has worked with Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to ascertain the university's capabilities to provide an acceptable standards of tuition for Mechanical Engineering programmes for the various level and also served as External Examiner/Moderator for other tertiary institutions in the country.As part of his services to the University, he has lectured in courses such as Strength of Materials, Introduction to Finite Element Method, Design of Machine Elements, Dynamics of Machinery and Instrumentation at the Undergraduate level and Advanced Manufacturing Process, Stress Analysis, Fracture Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Instrumentation and Controls and Quality Assurance at the Postgraduate level in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
