Samuel Nkansah Darko
The researcher has made significant contributions across several key health-related fields, focusing primarily on cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, infectious diseases (HPV), nutritional issues, metabolic disorders, and maternal and child nutrition. Their work encompasses the study of lipid biomarkers in type 2 diabetes and oxidative stress markers in diabetics, innovative treatment approaches for Schistosoma haematobium infections using praziquantel, and advancements in understanding bariatric surgeries and their outcomes. They also investigate global public health policies and the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare settings. Their research underscores the importance of comprehensive approaches to address challenges in nutrition, cardiovascular health, diabetes management, and infectious diseases.
Faculty Biography
I have a broad background in biochemistry, with specific training in the chemical pathology of metabolic syndromes. My expertise is in type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension research in both hospital and community based set-ups. Moreover, I have a rich experience in the field of clinical diagnostics, immunological, molecular and mass spectrometric methods. I have trained locally, regionally and internationally on health research methodology focusing on operational research to improve current health standards. These experiences together with working in the multi-national RODAM consortium have built me up not only in the area of planning and executing of projects, but also in communication with collaborators and team building.
