Research Overview & Focus

The researcher's work focuses on a comprehensive study of aquatic environments in Armenia, particularly Lake Sevan, addressing key themes such as mosquito-borne disease control, integration of remote sensing technologies for agriculture, evaluation of water quality and pollution impacts, and ecological studies on species distribution and climate change. Their research encompasses diverse approaches from mosquito-borne diseases to ecosystem assessments, integrating technological advancements with biological and environmental knowledge to address challenges in water management and conservation.

Faculty Biography

Thomas Kwaku Agyemang (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management, Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. Thomas obtained his BSc. in Natural Resources Management (Forestry Major) in 2000 at KNUST, Kumasi. He further acquired his MSc. in Environment and Agricultural Food Production at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. His PhD. in Limnology and Landscape Ecology was completed in 2010 at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. He specialized in the application of geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing techniques in the sustainable management of lake shores using macrophytes as bioindicators. He was appointed lecturer in the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management, KNUST in August 2013.For more than 10 years, Thomas has been teaching and conducting research with the application of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing techniques in water resources management, natural resources management, environmental management, ecology, biodiversity and climate change.
