Faculty Biography

Caleb Kesse Firempong is a PhD holder in Medical Science and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics from Jiangsu University, China. He doubles  as a lecturer and laboratory manager at Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi-Ghana, and Clinical Analysis Laboratory (CAn-Lab), KNUST, respectively. Currently, he is also the Head of  Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, KNUST-Kumasi. He is an expert in Medicinal Plant Biochemistry with special emphasis on the discovery, formulation and bioavailability of drugs from natural sources which can be used to treat non-communicable diseases (Cancers, Liver disorders and Hypertension). By dint of hard work he has contributed immensely to the progress of society and the knowledge of Natural Product Science both locally and at the international level. His professional mission is to improve health and well-being in Ghana and the international community as a whole, through biomedical research, education, clinical services and consulting.
