The researcher's work focuses on enhancing burn injury management and its outcomes across diverse fields. Their publications address burn patient epidemiology, novel treatment approaches, chemical burns, severe incidents in the middle belt, topical heparin use, and skin toxicity. This research integrates surgical techniques, diagnostics, treatments, complications, rehabilitation, and community-based awareness to improve burn care worldwide.
Faculty Biography
I am Joseph Akpaloo, I obtained my Plastic Surgery qualification in Klinikum Rechts der Isaar, University Hospital in Munich – Germany in 2005. I am a fellow of Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as a fellow in West Africa College of Surgeons. I was the Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital from 2014 -2017. I am an Honorary Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I am currently in the Department of Surgery, KNUST School of Medicine and Dentistry – College of Health Sciences and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
