Faculty Biography
Dr. Mizpah Ama Dziedzorm Rockson is a senior lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, KNUST. She holds a BSc. (Hons) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2003 and 2014 respectively both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Due to her academic excellence, she was retained as a Teaching Assistant at the department after her bachelor’s degree. She served as a demonstrator in the Department of Chemical Engineering while pursuing her PhD degree, during which she assisted lecturers in teaching and supervision of laboratory works.After her PhD degree, she worked as a part-time lecturer at the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies, Bunso. She returned to join the department in March 2015 as a lecturer, lecturing and supervising students prior to formal appointment. In January 2016, she got a formal appointment, and has since been working as a lecturer. Between September 2016 and July 2018, she served as the departmental examinations officer. She is currently the CENG coordinator for the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Faculty examinations officer for the Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering.Dr. Rockson is an active Fellow of the Africa Hall – KNUST. She has served on quite a number of committees within the college of Engineering and the university at large. She has been a member of professional bodies, namely: Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Ghana Science Association (GSA), and International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), Austria.Dr. Rockson has successfully supervised 2 PhD, 14 MSc. and 1 MEng Students, and 38 BSc. student project groups . She currently supervises 1 PhD, 1 MPhil and 2 MEng students, and 6 BSc. student project groups .
