Faculty Biography

Emmanuel Affum-Osei is currently a lecturer at the Department of Human Resources and Organisational Development of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. He obtained his PhD in Psychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the prestigious Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. Emmanuel received his MSc in Management Science from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and BSc in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. Before joining KNUST, he worked as a research fellow at the Applied Social Research Laboratory at the Department of Psychology, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include relevant career development topics, which focus on equipping young people to navigate graduation and/or job loss to successful employment through effective job search behaviour and entrepreneurial opportunities. Specifically, areas include linking job seekers’ motivation and self-regulation to job search behaviours and quality employment. His research works have appeared in top-tier international refereed journals as well as a book chapter. Emmanuel has presented in several international conferences around the world and he is an ad hoc reviewer for reputable international journals. He has served as a co-investigator to several research grants and has received reputable awards including the Chinese Government Scholarship Award, and UESTC Academic Achievement Award. Emmanuel has performed consulting roles for some external organisations.
