Research Overview & Focus

The researcher's work spans a broad range of topics within Geotechnical Engineering and Physical Sciences. Their studies emphasize innovative approaches in engineering applications, including stress-strain analysis of concrete with quarry rock dust (Theme 1), the influence of concrete shrinkage and creep on structural behavior (Themes 2 and 3), and advancements in material science through research into concrete corrosion and durability (Theme 4). Key contributions are demonstrated by investigations into deflection characteristics of reinforced precast structures, reliability analysis of pre-stressed concrete shells, and applications of differential equations in solving engineering problems. These findings contribute significantly to advancing the understanding and practical use of concrete technology in geotechnical systems.

Faculty Biography

I earned my Togo Baccalaureate (BSc) degree in Constructions’ Mechanics from Technical Lycee Eyadema, Lome, Togo (1981), my MSc degree in Civil Engineering from Zaporojie Industrial Institute in Ukraine (1988), and my Ph.D. from Dniepropetrovsk Civil Engineering Institute in Ukraine (1991) in the area of Reinforced Precast and Pre-stressed Concrete Structures. I am originally from Togo Republic. I am fluent both in French and English languages. I am ’Maître de Conférences’ from French Ministry of Education since February 2002. Currently I am a Senior Lecturer and Past Head, Department of Civil Engineering, at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana and have been since Jan. 2001. Prior to this, I worked for 9 years as a Dosent, Research Associate and Interpreter at Dniepropetrovsk Civil Engineering Institute and National Mining University of Ukraine. My research includes theoretical and experimental analysis of the influence of concrete creep on the long duration nonlinear flexural characteristics and on the exponents of limit states of reinforced precast and pre-stressed concrete various structural members as beams, slabs, columns, shells, load-bearing wall elements, electric poles and trusses, and is oriented to the following areas:I am member of professional organizations and I have written several papers for journals and books.
