Dr. Stephen Kofi Sondem is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, KNUST. He joined the University in May, 2004. Prior to that, he was the Acting Ashanti Regional Director and Principal Legal Officer of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, where he worked from 1993 to 2001. Dr. Sondem holds a postgraduate Diploma in International Law for Organization and Development from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands. He also holds an LLM and a PhD from the Beasley School of Law, Temple University, Philadelphia, USA and University of Essex, Colchester, UK, respectively. He is an awardee of two prestigious international scholarships - NUFFIC and Commonwealth. Dr. Sondem has specialized in International Law, International Human Rights Law, particularly Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Dr. Sondem is also a partner of KAB Legal Consult, a firm of legal practitioners in Kumasi, Ashanti. At the postgraduate level, Dr. Sondem teaches Interdisciplinary Legal Research Methods, International Humanitarian and Criminal Law, and Human Rights and Development. At the undergraduate level, he teaches International Law, Human Rights and Ghana Legal System and its Methods.
