About

I received my BA (Hons) in Social Sciences (Majoring in Economics and Sociology) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and obtained an MPhil Agroforestry degree from the same University in 1998. I did PhD training in Natural Resources Management at the Cranfield University (UK) and completed in February 2007.  I am a seasoned researcher and have been involved in various studies including the following; DANIDA funded research on climate smart cocoa agroforestry, I have also collaborated with Gesellschft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ ) with funding from North-Rhine Westphalia state in Germany to carry out research on climate and resource protection for sustainable economic development.  I have worked with Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Ghana to promote a value chain approach to climate change in agriculture. My Socio-economic background has been useful in collaborations with The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR), in studying Bats and corona viruses.  I have also been a Trainer/ Resource person for USAID, “Feed the Future” a programme for the scaling up Food Security in Africa, focusing on Non-state actors, the youth, and women. I have also collaborated with USAID in training stakeholders in preparedness and response for zoonotic diseases in Liberia and Sierra Leone. I have, and continue to serve on many committees and boards of the University.

Research Summary

(inferred from publications by AI)

The researcher's work focuses on integrating studies across several disciplines to address challenges in infectious diseases, land-use and ecosystem dynamics, viral infections, agricultural practices, and sustainable development strategies. From animal virus research to environmental impact assessments, the researcher explores how these issues intersect with food security, agroecology, and public health. Through mobile health applications and innovative crop management techniques, the study aims to enhance agricultural productivity while mitigating risks associated with climate change and poverty in Ghana's semi-deciduous ecosystems.
