Lawrencia Pokuah Siaw is a Senior Lecturer in Geography and Tourism Studies at KNUST, and teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, specializing in Hospitality, Travel and Events Management. She has over 25 years of experience in teaching and working within the tourism sector, having held a number of senior management positions in the National Tourism Management Organization.Prior to joining KNUST, she held the position of Principal Resource Officer in the Ghana Tourism Authority, where she was in charge of training and consulting to numerous tourism and hospitality businesses including restaurants, hotels, tour operations and events management.She teaches with a broad range of personal experiences and most importantly helps her students to find their passion and to strive to start their own tourism enterprises.She has supervised a number of postgraduate and undergraduate dissertations, and published a range of articles and research papers on various aspects of tourism and geography. She has participated and presented papers at numerous conferences as well.She currently holds the position of Patron of the Culture and Tourism Programme, and serves as an Academic Tutor for year two Geography students; offering guidance and counselling to students on issues of campus life and academics.She performs her duties on the conviction that ‘what is worth doing, is worth doing well’
