About

Prof. Jonathan N. Hogarh is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He holds PhD Risk Management and Environmental Sciences from Yokohama National University in Japan, MSc Engineering in Environmental Management from Aalborg University in Denmark, and MPhil Environmental Science and BSc Biochemistry from University of Ghana, Legon.Prof. Hogarh has research interest in environmental contamination from persistent organic pollutants (POPs), pesticides, pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs), toxic metals and other xenobiotics. He has done extensive work on monitoring and control of these pollutants in air, water and soil media. His research also focuses on environmental exposure analysis, chemical risk assessment, water treatment, waste management and environmental and occupational health and safety. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Department of Environmental Science, and postgraduate courses at the KNUST School of Public Health. He has been a Visiting Lecturer at ISA Lille University in France. He was a Visiting Researcher at University of Michigan, USA and Yokohama National University in Japan. He reviews for several scientific journals and serves on the Editorial Board of the West African Journal of Applied Ecology (WAJAE).
