I am an Associate Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness and Extension (DAEAE); Faculty of Agriculture in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) with considerable experience in curriculum development and teaching, research and extension in Ghana and Nigeria.Born to farmer parents, I got exposed to farming as a livelihood from childhood and pursued the BSc degree programme in Agriculture in the University of Ghana - Legon, graduating in July 1981 with a major in Crop Science. After almost a decade of agricultural education as a classroom teacher in the Nigerian Secondary School system, I enrolled and successfully studied for an MSc degree in Agricultural Extension Education from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1986.I returned to Ghana in 1990 for National Service duty with the then Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, KNUST, and was subsequently employed as a lecturer in Agricultural Extension in October 1991. Between October 1995 and June 2000, I studied for a PhD degree in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology at the University of Reading in England.From the humble beginnings as a lone lecturer in charge of three courses in Extension Education and Rural Sociology in the entire Faculty of Agrculture, I have seen to the growth and development of the discipline into a broad area of specialization with many courses servicing other faculties within and outside the College, and for a final-year undergraduate programme option in Agriculture, as well as  MSc, MPhil, and PhD programmes in Extension and Develiopment Commuinication currently running in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness and Extension, with five other lectuers. Indeed, the section has become overdued for Departmental status.
