Helen M. K. Essandoh is an Associate  Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation and a PhD in the area of wastewater treatment, specifically Soil Aquifer Treatment. The focus of her research is wastewater treatment by the application of various technologies such as soil aquifer treatment, constructed wetlands, vermitechnology and anaerobic digestion. She also carries out research on water quality and treatment, groundwater contamination from onsite sanitation systems as well as solid waste management.
