Dr. Aawaar is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Finance, KNUST School of Business, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Law (first class honours) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He is a commonwealth scholar of Cranfield University, School of Management in the United Kingdom where he obtained his master’s degree in finance and management. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Zululand, South Africa. Godfred has a rich background in economics and finance as an academic with over a decade of university teaching experience. He has taught and continues to teach the following courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Financial Econometrics, Research Techniques in Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, Bank Lending, Money and Banking, Corporate Finance, Business Finance, and Business Economics. In terms of research, Dr. Aawaar primarily focuses on financial market development in emerging and frontier markets with particular attention on their development, efficiency, integration and behavioural financial issues. Specifically, his research areas include international financial markets, behavioural finance, development finance, education finance, and international macroeconomics. He has published quite extensively in these areas in peer reviewed journals, including but not limited to Research in International Business and Finance, Journal of Economic and Administrative Science, Cogent Economics and Finance, Frontier in Finance and Economics, and International Journal of Economics and Financial Issues. He also reviews for the Journal of Economic and Administrative Sciences, and serves as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals. Dr. Aawaar also mentors and supervises a large number of undergraduate students and postgraduate theses. He practices as an entrepreneur and actively engages in community development projects that will better the lives of many, especially, the under-privileged in society.
