Emmanuel Offei is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geomatic Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.  He obtained his Doctorate degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, MSc (Land Surveying) University of Natal- Durban South Africa and BSc (Geodetic Engineering) Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi - Ghana.Prior to joining KNUST in 2004, he was a Principal Land Surveyor at the Department of Lands, Surveys and Physical Planning in the Kingdom of Lesotho. He has over twenty-five year’s national and international experience in land administration, customary land tenure, Informal tenure upgrades, women land rights and large scale land based investments.  His major research interest is in the area of land tenure and cadastral systems. Particularly access to land and security of tenure for the vulnerable in urban/peri-urban and rural areas. He has published in a wide range of areas in land tenure and has supervised several dissertations and theses.Akrofi is a Licensed Surveyor and a member of the Ghana Licensed Surveyors Association (LiSAG) and Professional member of Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS).
